Volunteering for AID and Comfort

Volunteers are the most important asset to the AID and Comfort Fund at Southwest CARE Center. Each year, in November, we produce the AID and Comfort Gala that has the reputation of being the best party in Santa Fe. The proceeds from the Gala go to support clients of Southwest CARE Center who cannot afford medical bills, insurance and medication.

Being a volunteer for the Gala is an opportunity to be creative, imaginative and work as part of a dedicated team. Some of the committees that volunteers serve on for the Gala include:

• Auction: solicit, collect, display and sell artwork and gift items for sale in our silent and live auctions
• Decorations: design, purchase needed materials, create, install and remove Gala decorations
• Food & Beverage: assist the El Dorado chef in creating a menu, solicit donations of either money or product from area restaurants
• Street Theatre: arrange and coordinate costumed volunteers to add to the excitement and theme of the Gala.
• Cash room: receive and account for money during the Gala
• Entertainment: arrange and coordinate the Gala music, emcees and deejays
