Our hepatitis C program offers state-of-the-art care, the latest medications, and to research trials.
We provide treatment for hepatitis C in Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Roswell.
- SCC’s clinical staff is specially trained in hepatitis C (HCV) management. Our team consists of care coordinators, nurses, medical assistants, doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and pharmacists who are trained in the latest treatment options, can offer diagnostic testing including FibroScan a way of measuring your liver health without performing a liver biopsy, and helping patients find insurance coverage for medical care and high-cost medications.
- At an intake appointment, our HCV Care Coordinators meet with new patients to learn what to expect from our program and to answer questions about the transmission, management and treatment of HCV. Our nurses and medical assistants thoroughly review medical history, possible treatment options, and disease progression, and give referrals for diagnostic testing and lab work.
- Our doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants work with patients to identify the best treatment regimen based on the results of lab tests as well as patient preference and insurance restrictions.
- Once prescribed treatment for HCV treatment, our team works closely with patients to ensure the best chance of successfully curing the virus. With the new medication available today, we can cure 90 to 100% people living with hepatitis C.
