Reducing emergency room frequent fliers and helping low-income Santa Feans access health care are among the goals of a proposal that Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales rolled out today with support from the city fire department and representatives of local health care agencies.  

The plan to have city emergency medical technicians and paramedics conduct proactive home visits rather than just responding to 911 calls will “change the landscape of health care in Santa Fe over the next few years,” says Fire Chief Erik Litzenberg.
